## Summary

Egenverk Babbla is an internal chat in wp-admin for WooCommerce stores, with an optional AI assistant (your own API key). The assistant answers questions about sales, orders and products through fixed, read-only tools over WooCommerce Analytics. It cannot change anything. Requires WooCommerce 7.0.

**Before:** Questions in email, spreadsheets and a chat app. "How did yesterday go?" needs a report.

**With Babbla:** The team talks in the admin bar and the assistant answers with numbers from WooCommerce.

## What it does, in plain words

- **Chat in the admin bar.** A drawer from the admin bar and a floating button. Rooms, direct messages, mentions and unread badges.
- **An assistant that only reads.** The tools `sales_summary`, `top_products`, `order_lookup`, `analytics_report` and `calculate`. Never free-form SQL.
- **Sees only what you may see.** The assistant answers within the asker's permissions and the chats they can already read.
- **Its own access.** The owner delegates Babbla administrators and chat users, separate from WordPress roles.
- **Budget and usage.** A daily token budget, a limit per user, a 30-day chart and cost per user and day.
- **Diagnostics.** A connection test and a log without message text or keys, cleared after 14 days.

## The chat lives in the admin bar

The chat lives in the admin bar: rooms, direct messages and mentions. The assistant is off until you enter your own key.

When you ask a question, the assistant uses fixed tools that only read:

The assistant sees only what the asker may already see. The chat makes no external requests, and there is a daily token budget and usage per user.

## Privacy and data

- **The chat:** Makes no external requests.
- **The assistant:** Off until you enter a key. Each question sends the question, the recent conversation and tool results to your chosen provider.
- **API key:** Your own key; the key can live in wp-config.
- **Log:** Without message text, tool results and keys; 14 days.

## Questions

### Can the assistant change orders?

No. Every tool is read-only and reads WooCommerce Analytics. It calculates with a safe expression tool, never free-form SQL.

### Do I need an AI key for the chat?

No. The chat works without a key and makes no external requests. The key is only needed for the assistant.

### What does a question cost?

That depends on your provider. Babbla shows an estimated cost per user and day and stops at the daily budget.
