## Summary

Egenverk Docs Viewer is a free WordPress plugin that shows README, CHANGELOG and docs/ files from installed plugins and themes in a reader inside wp-admin, with search, file tree and syntax highlighting. It makes no external requests. Requires WordPress 5.0 and PHP 7.4.

**Before:** The documentation exists — in a zip, on GitHub or over SSH.

**With Docs Viewer:** Everything searchable in wp-admin, with "What's new" after every update.

## What it does, in plain words

- **One click scans.** Plugins, themes and must-use plugins, including nested docs folders.
- **Search everything.** Matches highlighted, with an "On this page" outline.
- **Syntax highlighting.** PHP, JS/TS, JSON, CSS, HTML, shell, YAML, SQL, diff.
- **What's new in X.Y.** Shown on the plugin row after an update.
- **Links on the Plugins screen.** Docs and Changelog per plugin; the changelog opens at the installed version.
- **Administrators only.** By default; a filter can grant read access.
